The USF Sun Dome, a Spectra managed facility located on the campus of the University of South Florida, received a distinguished honor for the fourth consecutive year following its $35.6 million renovation in 2012. Based upon total gross ticket sales and attendance from April 1, 2015 thru March 31, 2016, the USF Sun Dome ranked 2nd within the state of Florida in venues with a capacity of 10,001-15,000 according to Venues Today Magazine.

Venues Today Inc. is the leading source of original reporting for live entertainment and events, serving management, owners, and suppliers to music, sports, and meetings venues internationally with an average of 1,500-2,000 venues reporting.

“We are very proud of our consistent ranking as a top booked facility in our category over the last several years, especially in such a competitive market as the Greater Tampa area,” says Spectra’s Trent Merritt, Regional Vice President and General Manager of the USF Sun Dome. “We will continue to work with our partners at the University of South Florida and the USF Athletics Department to find creative ways to drive events and revenue to the Sun Dome. Our success is a credit to our dynamic Spectra staff and the partnership and support we receive from the University of South Florida and USF Athletics.”

This year the USF Sun Dome hosted a variety of concerts including the Queen of R&B Mary J. Blige with special guest Keyshia Cole, ZEDD’s “True Colors Tour”, Fiesta Máxima featuring Carlos Vives, Anthony Hamilton and Fantasia, Legends of the Old School with Vanilla Ice, Salt-N-Pepa and Color Me Badd, Legends of Southern Hip Hop with Juvenile, Trick Daddy and Too Short, Tampa Spring Jam with Keith Sweat and Bobby Brown, and Christian rock superstars Hillsong United, TobyMac and Jesus Culture, among others. Other events that contributed to the venue’s #2 ranking include Premier Boxing Champions that aired live from the Sun Dome on ESPN, Katt Williams’ “Conspiracy Theory Tour”, Festival of Laughs with Mike Epps, and Star Trek star and activist George Takei’s lecture series.

All Sun Dome ticketed events are available through charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000, Ticketmaster outlets, online at Ticketmaster.com, or in person at the Sun Dome Box Office.
